Who We Are

Get in the Robot welcomes all anime fans. We’re your anime explainer, here to guide you through your watchlist. We like to talk about shows like Dragon Ball Z, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan…and some deeper cuts, too!

It’s comfy in here.

Get in the Robot is a no-pressure environment with chill vibes and snug adornments. Spend some time with us.

Made in NYC. Because we can’t move to Japan.

Proudly operating in the city that never sleeps, but when we do sleep we dream of cherry blossoms, mecha anime, and gachapon machines.

Your anime explainer.

We break down the shows you love (and maybe a few you don't). Whether you prefer subs or dub--we speak your language.

Curtis Richardson

Curt is a Youtuber, Freelancer, College Student, and Track Athlete from Columbus Ohio. He is studying media production at the University of Akron. On the side, Curt manages his own YouTube channel, CurtRichy, where he’s amassed his own fanbase outside of anime.

Yedoye Travis

Yedoye is a stand up comedian, actor, and writer from Atlanta, GA. He was named a New Face at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival in 2017 and has since headlined festivals around the country and appeared on TBS, Comedy Central, CBS, and Netflix and written for MTV and IFC. His debut album, OK, produced by Comedy Dynamics, was released January 2018 and he will be featured in the upcoming stand up series Unprotected Sets on EPIX.

Cristal Marie

Cristal is an anime and video game expert by day and an award-winning singer-songwriter, and actress by night! Best known for creating and launching CONANIME, the first anime convention in her native country, the Dominican Republic, publishing the award-winning “silent manga” Justicia (Justice) in the National Dominican Book Festival, and being creative director and associate editor for KAN Magazine (the first anime, video game and geek culture magazine of the Caribbean), Cristal Marie has always been deeply entrenched in both enjoying and promoting anime culture. She’s currently working on her Food Wars style cooking skills (she doesn’t have any), pronouncing all words correctly (work in progress), brand new music and bringing more visibility to Latinx women in geek culture.

Dorrie is a freelance voice actress, blogger, and aspiring screenwriter, born and raised in New York. She graduated from Ithaca College, and is very excited to be using her film degree as more than just a paperweight now. When she’s not talking cute anime girls, you can most likely find her dancing (horribly) to Talking Heads, watching bizarre horror movies, or chilling with her chunky cat, Pepper.
